“Once upon a time there were two best friends, a sassy, sexy girl who loved Converse sneakers and was careful with every penny, and an insanely handsome, rich man who adored her. They did everything except share the truth of their hearts. –Ben Dalton”
–Melissa Foster, Call Her Mine
Synopsis: Ben Dalton has always been honest, except where his heart is concerned. He’s been in love with his best friend—saucy, smart-mouthed Aurelia Stark—forever. But Ben’s a planner, and timing has never been on his side. When he finally decides to make his move, Aurelia beats him to the punch with a move of her own—to a different town.
Aurelia loves her new life in the charming town of Harmony Pointe. She has a great apartment and her very own bookstore, and best of all, the sinfully hot, commitment-phobic friend she’s crushed on for years is no longer just around the corner. Maybe she’ll finally be able to leave her unrequited love behind and move on.
But when a baby is left on Ben’s front porch—a baby that is presumably his—Aurelia is there for him. Neither one knows the first thing about babies, but how hard can it be? Ben and Aurelia are catapulted into a world of love, laughter, and tracking down the baby mama, and it might even add up to a very happily ever after… just not one either of them expects.
Review: Life is stressful and chaotic. When you need a heartwarming, funny, sexy romance to escape into, Call Her Mine by Melissa Foster is the book to choose. I was hooked from the very first paragraph and had great difficulty putting the book down (my family kept reminding me I had to sleep). And when I did put the book down I continued thinking about the characters and the story. It’s a rare book that has me smiling, laughing, sighing, and fanning myself as I read. Call Her Mine is a truly charming and touching and uplifting story. This is the first book of Melissa Foster’s I have read, and it won’t be my last.
Every character in this story is wonderfully written and relatable, even feisty Piper. Ben and Aurelia (Rels to Ben) are my new favorite couple. They personified what it means to love and support someone absolutely. It was delightful watching their friends to lovers relationship unfold as it was tested in ways that would split most couples apart. And I can’t forget about Flossie. I want this gentle, strong, wise woman as my grandma. I highly recommend Call Her Mine for a feel-good contemporary romance read.
****Thank you to the author, Montlake Romance and NetGalley for this ARC which was received in exchange for my honest review****
